Challenge In June 2005 our client’s website was looking very tired; that’s if you could actually find it. Potential customers were being put off by the ‘look and feel’ of the site and duplicate content had caused the site to be removed from Google’s index. To generate online business our client was being forced to spend a fortune on pay per click advertising.

Solution We agreed the website was due a complete overhaul and decided on a sustainable approach using organic SEO techniques. Our technical team began to un-pick the site’s problems and our editorial team set to work producing targeted copy that would please the FSA.

Results From near invisibility our client’s website now ranks well in all the major search engines. The financial services sector is aggressively targeted, but pick any targeted keyword and you’ll find their site on page one of Google’s results; often at the top spot.

Traffic, quotations and conversions have increased significantly across the board. Take ‘car insurance’ as an example, where monthly quotations are up by 300%; which in ‘real terms’ means an additional 4000 quotes per month. It’s hardly surprising that our client has invited us back to develop a number of sister sites and run their social media campaigns.
